The news of the death of Rob Kaman (63 years old) brought surprise and consternation to the entire world! After the disappearance of Ramon Dekkers, this is the greatest Kickboxing figure from the Netherlands who leaves the world of the living!.Before the start of the pandemic, as fate would have it, we met in the KLM lounge at Amsterdam airport, I was in transit to Hong Kong and Rob Kaman was traveling to Las Vegas!. We talked about the past and present of the Kickboxing industry and “Mr Low kick” lamented that in his “prime time” he did not have the financial opportunities that current talents enjoy!!. Last September, Ernesto Hoost, (Mr perfect and multiple k1-Japan champion) confided in me that ROB was the best and most complete fighter on the planet!!. Rob Kaman, a giant in the world of kickboxing, leaves a legacy of determination, technique and passion that transformed our sport. His departure not only marks the end of a brilliant era in the history of international kickboxing, but also serves as a reminder of his unwavering influence and the fighting spirit that inspired countless athletes and fans around the world.Rob, known for his devastating low kicks, has not only won titles, but also the respect and admiration of his peers, becoming a living legend in the ring. His dedication to Kickboxing, will to win and skill in the ring are qualities that made him not only a unique champion, but a true master for those who were lucky enough to learn from him.His death is an immense loss, not just for his family and friends, but for the entire martial arts community.
