After the brilliant victory of STOYAN KOPRIVLENSKI (WAKO Bulgaria) in the K1-Max in July this year, now (14 Dec) it was the turn of Brazilian ARIEL MACHADO (WAKO-Brazil) to win the K1- GP openweight.

After a series of fantastic fights throughout the year, Ariel Machado has proven himself to be the best K-1 fighter in the world!

The Brazilian athlete won the openweight GP on Saturday (14), in an absurd sequence of 3 knockouts. Ariel Machado had secured his place by facing opponents from South America in the continental tournament in August.

The competition, which ended the year and crowned the champion, was held in Tokyo (Japan). It was the final event after a sequence of regional Grand Prix events around the world.

- In the first fight Ariel knocked out Rhys Brudenell (GBR) with a right cross, Z in the first round, at 2:35.

- Advancing in the bracket, he faced the experienced athlete Errol Zimmerman (NED), defeating his opponent at 2:33 of the second round, after 2 knockdowns caused by Low Kicks.

- In the final, Ariel faced Feng Rui (CHN) and won his Grand Champion trophy with a left hook knockout at 2:55 of the first round.
